August 27, 2023 Opening of Representative Office of CIC (HK) in Guangdong The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has recently organised an Opening Ceremony in Guangzhou for the Representative Office of CIC (HK) in Guangdong (Representative Office). The Representative Office will assist the Hong Kong construction industry to establish business connections, explore business opportunities and hence build a comprehensive construction supply chain in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in the future.
Ir Thomas Ho, Chairman ofthe CIC said, "The CIC is grateful for the assistance provided by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, the Development Bureau of HKSAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council that enabled the CIC to overcome challenges during the pandemic and establish the Representative Office."
The Representative Office of CIC (HK) in Guangdong will strive to promote exchanges and cooperation between the Hong Kong construction industry and relevant enterprises and institutions in the GBA, optimise the supply chain of Modular Integrated Construction components, and encourage collaboration between the Mainland and Hong Kong on the training of construction workers. The CIC will further promote the integration of Hong Kong construction industry into the GBA and the overall development of the country.
