The Civil Engineering & Development Department signed a $152.8 million contract on July 9, with China Harbour Engineering Company to begin works to enhance Mui Wo's quality of living and tourism.
     The phase one works cover the construction of a waterfront promenade between the Mui Wo Cooked Food Market and River Silver, a civic square near Mui Wo old town, seven amenity areas for villages, and additional signage. They will enhance road safety, improve the town centre's environment and provide better recreational facilities.
     The works are scheduled for completion by the end of 2016.
