Nansha Kingboard Free Trade Zone Mixed-use Project commenced construction
Located in Guangzhou, the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, the architecture presents a sense of grandeur much like a gateway to the Belt and Road. The project.is scheduled for completion in 2020

M+ and Design Trust announce Thomas Daniell as the recipient of 2017 Research Fellowship
Daniell will research the topic of "Unbuilt Macau" by examining unrealized proposals for reclaimed land in Macau in the period immediately prior to the former colony's 1999 handover to China. Six main projects will be explored: ZAPE (Zona de Aterros do Porto Exterior); NAPE (Novos Aterros do Porto Exterior); Nam Van Lake; Cotai; Novas Zonas Urbanas; and Hengqin New Area

The highest honour in Green Building Leadership category under GBA 2016 goes to Housing Authority
HA has implemented innovative design strategies and principles for public housing developments, including carbon emission estimation and microclimate studies. New projects are planned with a green ratio of at least 20%. HA has also incorporated sustainability features such as recycled materials, energy-saving measures and water-saving initiatives in the construction stage

$20 billion to build new, and revamp existing, sports and recreation facilities
In the next five years to launch 26 projects for the new and existing sports and recreation facilities. The projects involve 54 venues, including soccer pitches, swimming pools, bowling greens and tennis courts. Mr Leung said the Government plans to expand the uses of Wan Chai Sports Ground in 2019 at the earliest

Designed by Andrew Bromberg at Aedas, the 45,000 sq m project consists of an office tower and a retail podium. The project had an interesting challenge as a bridge between the low-rise, residential developments to the south and Changshou Road to the north

Development of an innovation and technology park at the Lok Ma Chau Loop confirmed
The Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Developing the Lok Ma Chau Loop by Hong Kong & Shenzhen was signed on January 3. With a site area four times that of the Science Park, the 87-hectare Hong Kong/Shenzhen Innovation & Technology Park will be the largest innovation and technology platform ever set up in Hong Kong
